Message from Fr. John Chrysostom Tibakunirwa, Pastor
|
Saint Mark's Gospel 4:35-41 gives us a challenging situation namely the disciples fear the storm of the sea. The severity of the storm is evident not only by what Mark says, but in light of the reaction of these experienced fishermen. They feared for their lives. In total fear, they say: Teacher don't you care if we drown? Of course Jesus quiets the storm with a firm and stern word, but then He chides the disciples: Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith? From this we should learn the importance of Jesus power. He has power over the storms of life, He experiences them alongside us, He loves us, He saves us from them and He wants us to trust Him more than we do. Storms do not worry Jesus. He is right there with us during them, but He is perfectly calm about them.

SURVEY
In preparation for Bishop William Byrne’s visit on July 14th, 2024 we will be putting together a report to present to the him that talks about our Parish. Therefore, we do not want to prepare this report without your opinion. That is why we have prepared a survey, so each of you can share your opinion and have the opportunity to be part of this report. Here is a link to a web page where you can enter the survey and answer the questions. You will not be asked for any personal information. And it is very important that all of you take part in this survey. So that when we are preparing this report, not only will the Bishop be informed of what we who work for the Church think of the needs of our Parish, but your voices will also be heard by him as well.
