Message from Fr. John Chrysostom Tibakunirwa, Pastor
|
At first glance today's Gospel Reading appears to be about marriage, divorce, and adultery. However, when one considers the sections that follow in Chapter 10, the focus seems to be discipleship. The invitation is to be childlike at every waking moment of our lives in all our relationships whether of marriage or of friendship. In addition, we are encouraged in the Lord to move from a legalistic mindset to one that accepts the Kingdom of God like a child Jesus is not urging anyone to remain in a relationship that threatens safety and health. Sometimes a marriage becomes irretrievably broken. But that was never what God intended. God intended for husbands and wives to be one flesh.
