Message from Fr. John Chrysostom Tibakunirwa, Parish Administrator

In today's Gospel we are treated to a favorite Easter story. Thomas Didymus is not with the community; perhaps he is out eating almonds. Jesus enters into their place of hiding and fear. He offers them peace. They expect to be shamed and scolded for having abandoned Jesus. Instead of calling to mind their having pained and abandoned Him, He shows them His wounds and offers them peace once more.
|
Thomas comes back to the group and cannot believe; he wants proof. How comforting to us is that? So Jesus offers him proof, and then offers all future believers hope and faith. Blest are those who have not seen and have believed.
|
This Easter season invites us to bear witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus and to receive his Divine Mercy during this threshold time. As we bear witness in our own way, may Jesus’ peace be with us.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank You for a Truly Blessed and Beautiful Triduum and Easter Sunday!
Our heartfelt thanks go out to the many parishioner volunteers and staff who worked together to provide a very nice Holy Week and Easter Sunday. We appreciate and immensely thank all those who helped with decorating, planning, producing, participating, practicing, and doing everything that was needed to culminate in such a special week for our Parish! There are so many to thank, and we don’t want to leave anyone out, so please accept our general thank you. We couldn’t have done it without all of you. You are vital to Holy Name Parish now and going forward, and we can’t thank you enough for your time, your talent and the treasure of you!!

SAFETY TIP FOR PARISHIONERS
If you are approached either in church or out in the parking for money, please do not comply. We do not want to encourage this practice, and want to do our best to keep our parishioners and Mass attendees safe and free from solicitations. If this happens to you, please call the rectory to report it (we will ask where, what time, general description of the person) and we will take the steps necessary to hopefully discourage this from happening again.
