This Sunday we celebrate the Sixth Sunday of Easter. From today's Gospel of John 14:15-21 we read: Jesus says, I will not leave you as orphans. These words are a promise of enduring presence and support. He is fully aware and knows our fears and assures us that the Holy Spirit, the Advocate, is with us always to guide us, to teach us and to inspire us in various moments of our lives. Loving Jesus then becomes important so much so that doing this means living His commandments: forgiving, serving, speaking the truth. We can not do this alone, but the Spirit gives us strength and gudance. Without doubts the Spirit abides both with the Church and within each one of us as dedicated believers, making us temples of God's presence and empowering us to live our Christian calling faithfully.

Holy Day of Obligation
|
Thursday, May 14th is the Ascension of the Lord and a Holy Day of Obligation. Masses will be at 8:15a.m., 5:30p.m., and 7:00p.m. in Spanish.

Three Very Special Events Are Coming Soon
|
There will be a Rosary Rally in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Saturday, May 16th right after the 8:15a.m. Mass. All are welcome.
|
40 religious education students will be receiving their First Communion at the 10:30a.m. Mass, May 17th. All are invited!
|
On Sunday, May 31st, the 10:30 and 12:30 masses will be combined with a reception to follow honoring the Retirement of Deacon Michael Hodges after 17 years service as Deacon at Holy Name Parish. See next week’s bulletin for more details.

Holy Name Bible Camp for 7 – 12 Year Olds
The Good News/Godspell/The Gospel of Matthew
|
* Lunch, snacks provided, games, Bible theme activities, sports activities, a picnic in Forest Park,
water sprinkler, arts and crafts, and music for Campers 7-12 years old.
|
Where: Camp begins each day in the social center! Time: 10:00 AM- 3:30 PM
|
Dates: June 24th, 25th, 26th,( on June 26, 2026, campers meet in the social center, attendance and then activities at Forest Park) and Monday June 29th (End of camp , party and concert)
|
Applications with permission slips are available in the church or at the office.
|
|
NOTE: Attendance is limited and is on a “FIRST COME FIRST SERVE” basis.
|
|

Food Pantry Collection
|
We are once again requesting food items for the OPEN PANTRY. As always, we appreciate your giving spirit. The items hoped for are: Canned meats and canned vegetables, oatmeal or hot cereal, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese and spaghetti sauce. Please, no perishables!! Thank you very much!

Eucharistic Adoration
|
The Chaplet is prayed at 3p.m., the Rosary is prayed at 3:30 p.m. followed by Benediction.

Mass Intentions
are open for the Remainder of 2026 (July - December)

Please email to annfholyname@gmail.com or call if you prefer. Please be reminded that we can now take multiple intentions for the Sunday 10:30a.m. and 12:30p.m. Masses. The Mass stipend is still $15.00 if that is affordable.

Blue Army
|
On the first Saturday of every month, the Blue Army group follows the 8:15a.m. Mass with a rosary, meditation on the mysteries and confession until approximately 10:00a.m. Everyone is invited to stay after Mass to take part.

Junior Legion of Mary
The Junior Legion of Mary is coming to Holy Name in October! The only requirements are being under 18 and wanting to grow with God.

Religious Education
|
Special Schedule for Sunday “First Communion” students – First Communion practice is Saturday, May 16th at 5:30p.m. in the church. First Communion is Sunday, May 17th at the 10:30a.m. Mass. All students must attend each of these dates.
|
Confirmation Update – We are very happy that the Diocese has confirmed that Bishop Byrne will be here at Holy Name to administer the Sacrament of Confirmation to our students on Sunday, June 7th at
5:00p.m.
