Message from Fr. John Chrysostom Tibakunirwa, Parish Administrator
In today’s First Reading we hear a poem from the beginning of Isaiah's Prophetic Ministry to Israel. The image is a vine planted in a field with great care. The Nation Israel is often seen by various Prophets as a choice vine. The Prophet's friend is the God who has called Isaiah and who has given Israel a fertile land and planted Israel there with great saving-love.

We are not involved in deciding who is in and who is out in relating with God. Jesus was deeply aware that the leaders of His time were more interested in the people following their interpretation of the law. Jesus, according to Matthew is sent first to the people of Israel as was the son in the allegory sent into the vineyard following the servants who had been killed. What we are to hear is the deep love that God the Owner, has for the people, and that this love is given so that there will be fruitfulness within the vineyard of God.

Eucharistic Rosary Congress

Join the effort to save our state, our country, and our world by participating in adoration for the Eucharistic Rosary Congress of the Diocese of Springfield at the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy, Oct. 7, the Feast of the Rosary, to Oct. 13, the 106th anniversary of the Miracle of Fatima. You are invited to attend and assist us at this year’s Springfield Diocesan Eucharistic Rosary Congress, which will be held once again in the Oratory Chapel at the northern end of the campus of the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy, at the top of Pine Street, in Stockbridge, MA. The Congress is a WEEK of in-person around-the-clock adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament with the Rosary prayed aloud at the top of each hour. The Rosary Congress begins with the 9:00 AM Mass in the Shrine Church, after which there will be a Eucharistic Procession to the Oratory Chapel, where the Congress will be held for the next seven days (Note: The Blessed Sacrament will be reposed each weekday for an hour for the 11:00 AM Mass.). The Congress will close on Oct. 13 with a Eucharistic Procession from the Oratory Chapel to the Shrine, led by Bishop Byrne at 12:30 PM, with a holy hour and confessions from 1 PM until the 2 PM Mass, celebrated by Bishop William Byrne of the Diocese of Springfield.
