|
Advent is the time we are being exposed to and open to the on-coming of Jesus. We hear these words addressed to us, "Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight His paths." That is very nice however, Prophet Isaiah images God as predicting that God will do this for the people. God will straighten and level the way for the people's return.
|
Advent then is not for the waiting for Christmas, nor the celebration of Christ's Birth in Bethlehem, but the time we give to letting Jesus come closer and closer to us and our unstraightened and roughness. The closer we allow His Birth in us, the straighter and smoother our ways become.

Christmas Mass Schedule
- December 24th is also the 4th Sunday of Advent, so the morning Masses will take place as usual – 8:30, 10:30 and 12:30(Spanish Mass)
- Christmas Eve: 4:00p.m. English and 7p.m. Spanish
- Christmas Day: 9:00a.m. English and 11:00a.m. Spanish

Since we would like to be respectful of your personal Christmas plans and schedule, we are asking for volunteer lectors and altar servers for all of the above Masses. Please call or email Ann at the rectory to offer your services if you are available. Thank you very much!

Penance Service - Dec. 13
|
All are invited to our church for a Penance Service on Wednesday, December 13th at 6p.m. Six priests will be in attendance, and confessions will be heard in both English and Spanish.

Eucharistic Adoration
|
is on Tuesdays, 1-5p.m. Chaplet prayed at 3p.m., Rosary at 4:30p.m. followed by Benediction.

Rosary for Peace
|
In light of the tragic events in Israel, we will be praying a Rosary for peace in the world, every Sunday of Advent starting at 10:00 AM. Bring your own needs and intentions as well.

Advent Retreat
|
Our Advent Retreat continues on Sunday, December 17th, from 2-2:45p.m. at our church.

Decorating the Church for Christmas
|
will take place on Saturday, December 23rd, right after the 8:15a.m. Mass. Please come join us if you can!

Junior Legion of Mary
The Junior Legion of Mary is coming to Holy Name in October! The only requirements are being under 18 and wanting to grow with God.
