Message from Fr. John Chrysostom Tibakunirwa, Parish Administrator
The First Reading talks about the pains leprosy brought to humanity. In the Gospel of Mark, the man came to Jesus and made a profound act of faith. If you wish you can make me clean. Jesus then touched (imagine that) touched the unclean human being while saying, I will it. Be made clean. The Leprosy left him immediately.

Jesus tells the man to observe the ritual practice of His Jewish tradition by showing himself to the Priests in order to be reaccepted to the community as perceived clean now.

Jesus’ attitude towards the leper and His healing touch form the invitation to us who follow Him. There are many forms of leprosy around us. Jesus touches us in the very condition we wish we were not. In receiving Jesus empathy and empowered by the Word and the Eucharist, we are encouraged likewise to extend His healing touch to all
